An investigation was launched and entrusted to the national police after the death of a resident of the Abymes gerontological center (Guadeloupe) on the night of Monday 11 to Tuesday 12 November 2024. The victim, aged 93, was found without life in his room, reports Radio Caribbean International this Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Several disturbing elements
His body was found lying on the bed but another patient, aged 73, was asleep on the remains. The man suffers from mental illnesses. This situation, added to the late reporting of the death of the nonagenarian and an external report, pushed the authorities to launch investigations, explains the local media.
The warning protocol in force in this type of establishment was also not respected. Initial observations did not reveal any traces of violence. Further analyzes and an autopsy are planned to help investigators clarify the circumstances in which the Guadeloupean died.
