The national road safety observatory has placed on a map the number of fines for excessive speed in 2023. In Seine-et-Marne, 12 drivers out of 1,000 received a fine for driving too fast last year . That's pretty high. The government points out that speed is responsible for around 27% of fatal accidents. Furthermore, any frontal impact above 80 km/h almost always results in death or irreversible damage, even with the seat belt.
