Olivier Ménard is back. The presenter of the show The Evening Team returned to the air on Thursday June 20, 2024, ten days after being the victim of a violent attack in the lobby of his building in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine). He confided in the columns of The team and this scene came back in which he saw himself die.

On the day of the incident, Monday June 10, the 53-year-old man was returning home after shopping. “I head towards the second digital code and there, I feel a shadow rushing towards me and throwing lefts and rights in my face”, he tells our colleagues. After a moment of “astonishment”the journalist came to his senses and managed to parry a few blows.

“I felt the blows but they didn’t hurt”

According to Olivier Ménard, the attack lasted three minutes. “My attacker wanted to kill mehe says. At one point, he (wanted) to guillotine me, break my cervical vertebrae.” Despite the violence of the scene, the journalist claims not to have been afraid. “The brain is weirdly messed up. I had to take an adrenaline shot because I felt the blows but they didn’t hurt”he explains.

The presenter of theEvening Team, who filed a complaint, does not think that this attack could be linked to what he could have said on the air. According to him, his attacker mentioned the fact that he had “poorly spoken” from his mother or “to his mother”. He would like to be able to talk to her one day to understand what happened to him.
