This evening, planned for Friday June 28 by an association bar, “has nothing to do in Rouen, nor anywhere in Europe”, denounces the socialist mayor, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol.

It’s an evening planned in Rouen which is causing controversy. As spotted by our colleagues from 76-, the Le Mora bar is organizing an evening on Friday June 28 called “Ausländer Raus”, which means, translated from German, “Foreigners outside”. This event is reserved for members of the bar since it is an associative place.

This evening “has nothing to do in Rouen”

The organization of such an evening sparked strong criticism from the socialist mayor of Rouen, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol. This event “has nothing to do in Rouen, nor anywhere in Europe. I have contacted the prosecutor, the prefect and will take my responsibilities. Racism, xenophobia are the mark of the extreme right. They do not have no place in the Republic,” he wrote in a message on the social network

Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol sent a letter to the public prosecutor of Rouen under article 40 of the code of criminal procedure according to which “any constituted authority, any public officer or civil servant who, in the exercise of his functions, acquires knowledge of a crime or misdemeanor is required to give notice without delay to the public prosecutor and to transmit to this magistrate all information, reports and acts relating thereto.
