The Mende trade office is organizing a local fashion show to promote the shops in the city center, this Friday, November 15, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., at the Georges-Frêche events space. This is the first time that it is organized in November, to present the fall and winter collections.

This Friday, November 15, 2024, come to the Georges-Frêche events space in Mende from 8 p.m., for an exceptional fashion show. The city center's merchants will all be mobilized to present the most beautiful pieces from their fall-winter collection, on mannequins that every Lozerian will be able to identify with.

Women and men will be represented through around ten Mende stores. It will be a great spotlight on the city center and its merchants, before winter.

“Following the summer show, which took place last May, several retailers told me that it would be good if we also did one to present the winter collections, rather indoors”assures Marie Reynaud, the city center manager at the Cœur de Lozère trade office and coordinator of this event.

Collaborate between locals

After identifying the people who wanted to get involved and participate, we had to find a date that suited everyone, as well as an available location. Then, Marie Reynaud contacted a service provider to have a stage installation, in other words everything that will “create the framework for the fashion show”. For the big day, it was she who planned the order of passage, the roles of each person, as well as the text for the host of the evening, Cathy Paulhac.

As for the traders, they found their own models, makeup artists and hairdressers, always favoring local professionals. Although the coordinator was contacted by external service providers and professionals, she nevertheless favored the city's traders, in all areas.

Not everyone will present clothes. Some will be represented through the beauty of the models. “The merchants helped each other to organize the parade,” as explained by Alexandra Perreira, the manager of Alex Mode. His models will, for example, wear shoes from the Delmas boutique or pieces from Marilou Bijoux.

“Boost the city center”

The objective of this event is multiple. For Marie Reynaud, it is about “give visibility to traders [et de le faire] collectively to obtain a greater reach and allow them to reach a little beyond their usual clientele. We want to highlight them and at the same time create a somewhat festive, unusual event.”

For Alexandra Perreira, it is also an opportunity to prove that, even in small towns, there are stores and there is something for everyone. “The oldest model will be 76 years old. This will show that everyone can dress in the city's boutiques, regardless of their age.”

Men's ready-to-wear will also be in the spotlight. He will be back with two stores: Place aux hommes and Devred 1902.

A family outing

A friendly drink is planned after the parade, explains Alexandra Perreira. Entrance to the event is free. A raffle will be offered to spectators with, among other things, vouchers to be won. It will also be an opportunity to “going out with family”says Alexandra Perreira.

Please note that the models will be “locals, acquaintances or family. We know the people who will be on stage, that’s what makes the thing a bit popular and nice”concludes Marie Reynaud.
