Big scare in the Certé district of Trignac, near Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique). Around twenty gendarmes formed a security perimeter around the Anne-Franck and Léo-Lagrange school groups this Thursday November 14, 2024. The alert was lifted at midday.
The protection and security plan triggered
It all started, at the end of the morning, with the call from two families, who said they had heard gunshots, or even shootings, in Saint-Nazaire. Immediately, the management of the nursery and elementary schools initiated the protection and security plan and called the gendarmerie.
“We immediately established a security perimeter around the establishment,” explains the gendarmerie, contacted by the Echo of the Peninsula.
Confined students
During this time, students from both school groups were confined.
More fear than harm: the information turned out to be unfounded. It took more than an hour for the police to give the green light to let the children out. “This allowed us to see that the security perimeter was working well,” notes the gendarmerie.
