It is one of the heavyweights of the industry in (Tarn). A heavyweight in the economy too. And a heavyweight in its sector of activity. He has just inaugurated new buildings and equipment which cost several million euros.

It is about Seppic. A subsidiary of Air Liquide Healthcare, Seppic designs, produces and distributes a wide range ofspecialty ingredients which are used in the composition of cosmetic, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, veterinary and industrial products. It is one of the world leaders in this field.

Seppic, which has customers in around a hundred countries, employs nearly 900 people in . Of which more than 400 in Castresits largest site.


Hundreds of new equipment

On November 6, 2024, Seppic inaugurated several buildings intended for production and research.

“These new buildings will make it possible to increase the production and packaging capacity of specialty ingredients on the Castres site, particularly for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical markets,” explains the company, which did not do things at half with more than 600 new equipment installed.

1 200 m2 new laboratories also strengthen the company's capacity for innovation and quality control, including nearly 15% of the workforce is dedicated to research. These new infrastructures represent a total investment amount of more than 25 million euros over the last five years.

New jobs

“With the creation of 7 new permanent jobs and significant investments in innovation and research, Seppic places science and innovation at the heart of its commitment to sustainable and accessible health,” assures departmental advisor Géraldine Rouanet.

“There are 110 researchers who, thanks to these new laboratories, will be able to develop ever more effective and sustainable solutions, thus helping to improve the lives of many people,” she also believes.
