Grenoble. Shots fired into the air at Place Saint-Bruno

Around twenty masked individuals dressed in black, according to a resident of Place Saint-Bruno, started running as if they were being chased, around 3:45 p.m. this Wednesday, November 13, from rue de la Nursery and rue Edgar -Quinet – where the points of sale of drugs and contraband cigarettes are usually held – before disappearing.

A few seconds later, another group of individuals appeared, several of whom were armed with knives, according to witnesses, and one of whom fired two shots into the air with a handgun.

A teenager armed with a machete arrested and a firearm found

No injuries were reported but many terrified witnesses took refuge in businesses whose curtains were hastily lowered.

The police officers, who arrived on site a quarter of an hour later, deployed in large numbers and checked several suspects, including a 15-year-old teenager who was arrested in possession of a machete. He was taken into custody.

At the same time, a witness reported to law enforcement that he had seen a man discard a handgun under a parked vehicle, which weapon was found and seized.

Faced with this new shooting – which, like the many previous ones, is probably linked to the war waged by drug traffickers to appropriate this lucrative deal point – most of the traders on Place Saint-Bruno have decided to close up shop for the rest of the day.
