In which towns in the Loire do the richest (and poorest) people live?

The Observatory of Inequalities has published its 2024 report based on data from INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies). It takes stock of the wealthiest inhabitants and their profile in the country.

L’Etrat, La Fouillouse and Saint-Galmier in the top 3

The municipalities of L’Etrat, La Fouillouse, close to Saint-Etienne, and Saint-Galmier are among the top 3 richest.

The capital of the Loire only comes in 43rd place, Roanne in 53rd place.

It is important to specify that the data analyzed by the Observatory of Inequalities does not classify all the municipalities in the department. Below 2,000 inhabitantsthe figures are not precise enough.

Firminy, Le Chambon-Feugerolles and La Ricamarie at the back of the pack

To draw up its table, the Observatory of Inequalities relied on the median standard of living of the inhabitants of each municipality, standard of living which divides the population in two: as many earn less, as many earn more: this is the disposable income for the equivalent of a single person.

Rive-de-Gier, Firminy, Le Chambon-Feugerolles and La Ricamarie are last in this ranking.
