Three days of strike are planned, July 2, 3 and 4, at this resort of the Société des establishments de plein air du Québec (SEPAQ).

These approximately 150 workers are members of the United Food and Commercial Workers (TUAC) union, which is affiliated with the FTQ. In fact, their number varies from 110 to 150, depending on the time of year.

The tourist resort is located near Lake Saint-Joseph, in the greater Quebec region.

Remuneration is the main point in dispute, as is the evaluation of job classification.

“The members of the Duchesnay Tourist Station did not take the decision to strike lightly. We very much hope to avoid an indefinite general strike. However, faced with inaction on financial clauses on the part of our employer and the Treasury Board, we are forced to use this means of pressure to advance negotiations and obtain fair working conditions,” commented Michel Carrier , union delegate and spokesperson for these union members.

Reached by email, SEPAQ management had not yet commented at the time of writing.
