This is a service that is very difficult to do without today. However – and despite technical progress in recent years – receive a call or send an SMS may still prove difficult in some territories. And for good reason: not everyone is yet fully covered by mobile phone networks. Lauragais is no exception, also counting its share of “white areas” or to “limited coverage”regardless of the operators. Interrupted telephone conversations, undelivered messages, etc. can thus become commonplace for some residents. This is particularly the case in the commune of Nailloux, more particularly in the Fountasso district or the Tambouret area. “We know that in certain places, communication risks breaking down,” admits the mayor, Lison Gleyses. But the situation should change very soon.

This construction site that could change everything

For a couple of days, workers from the Totem company have been working to the construction of a new relay antenna on the outskirts of the town center. The site chosen by the operator , at the initiative of the project, to implement the latter? The Tambouret areato the north of the town. More precisely, part of the plot located above the Renault garage, used by the City's Technical Services. “The location of the new antenna was chosen after an in-depth geomarketing study to best meet the expectations and needs in the municipality's territory,” reports the operator in its information file. Before justifying:

Its objective is to enable users in the covered area to communicate better: statically and in mobility, transmit and receive voice, image, text, computer data, anywhere in the street or from home. them, in the office, in transport (personal or public) and in the best possible conditions.

“It is obviously essential for residents, especially when they are in areas with less coverage,” comments Lison Gleyses.

Commissioning planned for early 2025

As for knowing what this new antenna will look like: “It will bea 30 m high pylonfor the moment intended for Orange, but which could, ultimately, welcome another operator, informs the mayor of Nailloux. But I want to be reassuring on one point: this infrastructure will not have no impact on our future projects hereparticularly on the creation of photovoltaic parking. »

For now, this pylon still needs to be erected. “It will be assembled on the ground before being erected,” the city councilor further informs. “Commissioning should take place during the first half of 2025, once the supply to the electricity network has been carried out by Enedis”, we add on the side ofOrangequestioned by Voice of Midi Lauragais on the work schedule.

Soon 5G in Nailloux?

Note that this new relay antenna – which will complement the infrastructure already in place at the Laborie water tower, south of Nailloux – should also promote the deployment of the 5G network in the town which was, until then, not served.

Network which should also soon be accessible with the operators SFR and Bouygues Télécom. SFR having submitted an information file in September on the evolution of this relay antenna located at a place called Laborie.
