Haute-Savoie: the bodies of three children discovered in Taninges, the mother actively sought

The lifeless bodies of three children were discovered in a house in Taninges this Tuesday around 12:30 p.m., we learned from a judicial source, confirming information from our colleagues in the newspaper The Dauphiné Libéré. According to our information, it was the father of one of the children of this blended family who made the macabre discovery and notified the emergency services. The deceased children, from two unions, are two boys aged 2 and 11 and a girl aged 13. The bodies of the three children showed stab wounds.

A letter found

The mother of the three children, who suffers from depressive disorders, is actively sought. Still according to information from Bleu Pays de Savoie, this 45-year-old mother works as a school teacher. Several people from his family and professional circle were interviewed by investigators. A letter was found at the scene of the tragedy. Significant resources were mobilized from midday to locate her. As of early Tuesday evening, she had not been found.

Voluntary homicides

The Bonneville public prosecutor, Boris Duffau, went to the site early in the afternoon. The Bonneville prosecutor's office has opened “a flagrant investigation into intentional homicide which was entrusted to the Bonneville research brigade with the support of the Chambéry research section”. “Autopsies and additional assessments will be quickly carried out by the Forensic Institute, but from the first findings, it is established that the victims have stab wounds,” the prosecution clarified in the evening in a press release. “The investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of the commission of the facts.”

Sixty policemen

A very large gendarmerie system was deployed throughout the day, with around sixty soldiers mobilized: helicopter from the Chamonix PGHM, Bonneville gendarmerie company, departmental road safety squadron, Bonneville search brigade and search section from Chambéry. The criminal scene was frozen and the first investigative actions carried out early in the afternoon.

The PGHM helicopter was notably mobilized to survey the area and take aerial shots of the house. The tragedy occurred in a house located at a place called Le Suet, a hamlet located near the D907, at the exit of Taninges, direction Mieussy. A medico-psychological emergency unit has been set up at Taninges town hall.
