Dominika Kuriata is the president of the association Terra Virid'Yz (from the Latin terra viridis meaning “green earth”). Of Polish origin, she arrived in France in 2012 following the search for health professionals, her profession being masseuse-physiotherapist. It was a sort of love at first sight and in 2015, she settled in Yzeures-sur-Creuse, a village ideally located between nature and cultural heritage.
As Dominika says: “ We are surrounded, sometimes without knowing it, by little-known treasures nearby. » It is for this reason that the Terra Virid 'Yz association was created in 2024, in order to share and better publicize the heritage and cultural wealth of the region.
Yzeures-sur-Creuse is at the crossroads of three departments: Indre-et-Loire, Indre and Vienne, an ideal position for exploring the surrounding area. Real estate, historical, cultural heritage, famous people, unique or rare places, remarkable events, etc. So many opportunities for great discoveries, but also for sharing information on social networks by members of the association.
Very active on social networks
This allows everyone to be informed of this or that event, discovery or visit, in close partnership with the tourist offices and the town hall of Yzeures-sur-Creuse. Information, reports and videos allow those who cannot travel or who are not on site to discover this region from a distance, while making them want to come there.
Regularly, to discover a “nugget”, the association organizes group visits, thus adding conviviality and sharing. Discovering, promoting local heritage and promoting culture is its common thread. As Dominika says: “ I live there, are you coming? For locals and for all those who want to discover our region. »
Furthermore, for the sake of “well being together and sharing” the association is pleased to also relay on the Internet the events of friendly and Yzeuroise associations, and there are many of them.
A day around the singer Mado Robin
On the occasion of Pink October, a day dedicated to collecting donations for research assistance was organized around conferences, testimonies and more festive relaxation. The life of Mado Robin, born in Yzeures-sur-Creuse and vocal singer “the tallest in the world” was traced, knowing that she died in 1960, following breast cancer. The video shown during the conference is already available on the association's Facebook page.
