It’s in a month. The Olympic and then Paralympic Games are approaching! Preparation is in full swing in Yvelines.

To celebrate this global event, the largest fan zone of the department will be located on part of the leisure island of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Two giant screens will broadcast the events live.

This 4-hectare estate will be open from July 27 to 29, then from July 1er to August 11, the day of the tests in the territory. Access is free. from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.


Free concerts, entertainment, drone shows…

For the opening night on Saturday July 27, a free concert by the duo International DJs Ofenbach is organized at 9:15 p.m. These two friends, originally from Paris, made themselves known in particular with their title Be minecertified diamond disc in France.

A space dedicated to Made in SQY

Within this fan zone, a space will be dedicated to Made in SQY. The goal: to highlight the know-how of local players. A showroom space will allow companies to exhibit their innovation with, for example, models of rockets and satellites from
the OVSQ or the Urbanloop capsule (this innovative means of transport tested on the Leisure Island).
Activities will be offered: juice bikes, arcade machines, demonstrations of wheelchair motorization systems, etc.
Local products will also be available to taste.

On Saturday August 3, time for the “Talent SQY” evening with Vincent Vinel. This artist made himself known in particular with The Voice. At 10 p.m., the artist Broken Back will give his free show until 11 p.m. He owes his stage name to an accident. He broke his back in 2012 at the age of 22. During his convalescence, he took up the guitar and published his first album in 2016.

For Saturday August 10, the group Magic System will ignite the fan zone! The group is known for its hits First gaou, Move Movebut also Magic in the Air.

For these exceptional evenings, the opening will be from 12 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

Up to 5,000 people

Who says Olympic Games says sports. Climbing, basketball, volleyball, golf, archery, BMX, football, or even a roller disco track… sports activities will be organized every day from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. as well as demonstrations. A cultural and educational space will also be installed with giant games, DIY workshops and the creation of a giant fresco.

A catering area will be open continuously from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“We will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 people. 300 people will be mobilized, plus stakeholders, associations and of course the police to ensure security, as on an Olympic site. »

As a reminder, five sites are counted in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. These are mountain biking on the Élancourt hill, cycling and para-cycling on the track at the Vélodrome National, the BMX at the BMX Stadium, the equestrian events at the Palace of Versailles and the golf events at the Golf National. Also, the two road cycling events will cross the Yvelines as well as the marathon.
