Procedures linked to domestic violence have been on a continuous rise in Deux-Sèvres for five years. The sad observation, recalled by Sandra Gérard, delegate for women's rights and equality to the prefect, does not necessarily reveal an increase in the phenomenon, but undoubtedly a slightly easier freedom of speech in this area.
The Stop Violences 79 network, created in 2009, contributes greatly to this. It has four variations – Nord, Gâtine, Niortais and Mellois-en-Poitou-Haut-Val de Sèvre – across the department.
