Here is the opportunity to discover, under a new eye, two emblematic districts of the City of Montreal during a completely free guided tour.

Indeed, until September 29, these free guided tours will allow you to understand the history and culture that shaped the Latin Quarter and the Quartier des Spectacles. Both routes will be commented by a guide certified by theQuebec Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (ITHQ). It’s also a great opportunity to introduce your visiting family or friends to the big city!

During the visit to the Latin Quarter, you will feel like you are traveling back in time as you explore the picturesque streets, historic buildings as well as French-speaking cultural and academic institutions. You will be able to discover the well-kept secrets of the district from its infancy until its transformation into the student district that it is today.

While during the visit of Quartier des Spectaclesyou will revisit the major events which shaped the urban fabric and the spirit of this emblematic place, from the period of Red Light until the recent developments which transformed it into an immense open-air theater.

Visits will take place every week at the following times:

  • Free guided tour of the Latin Quarter : Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
  • Free guided tour of the Quartier des Spectacles : Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m.
  • Free guided tour of the Quartier des Spectaclesin English: Saturdays at 4 p.m.
