In brief | Groupama Manche is organizing a solidarity walk on June 23 in Cerisy-la-Forêt

The Manche Departmental Federation of Groupama is organizing a solidarity walk on Sunday June 23, 2024 in Cerisy-la-Forêt. This walk raises awareness among the general public about rare diseases and raises funds for rare disease associations or research projects. This year, the Fédération de la Manche is supporting Afha (French Association of Alternating Hemiplegia) and Eclas. Afha brings together most French families with a child suffering from Alternating Hemiplegia (AHC), as well as professionals and friends interested in this disease. As for Eclas, created in 2013, it responds to the specific situation of families facing type 1 spinal muscular atrophy.

Two routes are offered, one of 5 km for a departure at 9:45 a.m. and the second of 12 km for a departure at 9:30 a.m. At lunchtime, it is possible to picnic and visit the Abbey Church and its park in the afternoon.

Note that in 2023, across the entire Groupama Center Manche territory, more than 100 walks were organized bringing together nearly 23,000 walkers and raising more than €418,000. A great proof of solidarity to fight against rare diseases. ” One euro collected is one euro donated “, warns Brigitte Hurault, vice-president of the Federation of Local Credit Unions of La Manche and reference to the Groupama foundation. In La Manche, last year, €2,500 in donations were collected.
