Storms are back in Lot-et-Garonne and Météo France has placed the department in orange alert for this Tuesday June 18, 2024from 7 p.m..

Three other departments of Nouvelle-Aquitaine are in the same situation. There Gironde and the Landeswhere the storms will arrive from The Atlantic Ocean are on alert from 5 p.m. while the Dordogne is on alert, like Lot-et-Garonne at 7 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 100 km/h

THE vigilance bulletin issued this morning by Météo France forecasts “a stormy degradation associated with violent phenomena. »

These storms should be accompanied by “ hail, wind gusts of around 90 to 100 km/h » or even “rain accumulations which can reach 30 to 50 mm in a short time. » Météo France concludes by specifying that “the risk of having hailstones with a diameter greater than 2 cm is particularly marked. »

In these circumstances, orange vigilance involves avoiding all travel, moving away from trees and waterways, taking shelter in a solid building or even avoiding using your telephone and electrical appliances.
