Creuse: still no news of the septuagenarian who disappeared in Châtelus-le-Marcheix

The 76-year-old resident of Châtelus-le-Marcheix, in Creuse, missing since the night of Monday June 10 to Tuesday June 11, is still nowhere to be found. The Creuse gendarmes have launched a call for witnesses after the cognitively impaired septuagenarian left her home alone. Around fifty of them were mobilized to find her. Searches on foot took place in the town and around the home of the missing woman, notably with dog teams. A Malinois first intervened, then a Saint-Hubert dog, with an even keener sense of smell. A helicopter also flew over the area, but found nothing.

The Taurion was also searched, first by firefighters then by divers from La Rochelle. Seven kilometers of river were combed with a sonar, a device that can detect submerged objects, still without result. Three citizen raids bringing together around fifty people also took place.

Difficult searches

The searches are indeed difficult due to the proximity of the river and the fact that the area is wooded with a lot of vegetation and therefore less visibility. The gendarmes therefore do not exclude any hypothesis: the lady could have fallen into the river or even gotten lost in the forest. One or two patrols continue to go to the site every day to go door to door in search of information. The missing woman, of normal build, measures 1m70, and moves around with two red walking canes. If you have any information, please contact 17 or the Bourganeuf gendarmerie brigade on 05 55 64 00 25.
