$1.7 million for 24 organizations in the region

Centraide Québec and Chaudière-Appalaches was at the Le Grenier Food Comptoir to reveal the amount granted in Chaudière-Appalaches as well as in Lévis at the end of its annual campaign, on June 12. Thus, $1,711,430 was raised for the Lévis region and $4,969,629 for Chaudière-Appalaches.

“This amount is several umbrellas for people who are experiencing the housing crisis in Lévis, for people experiencing homelessness, for the 17,900 people who do not have the income to cover their basic needs. For us, this is great news, we are not just passing through, we are here to stay,” said Isabelle Genest, president and general director at Centraide.

For Lévis, 20% more than last year was raised while for Chaudière-Appalaches, we are talking about 17% more.

“Centraide reaches out to community organizations, but also to governments, businesses, and civil society so that together we can put in place all the favorable conditions and all the levers to improve the living conditions of all” , shared Cathie Desmarais, vice-president of social development at Centraide Québec and Chaudière-Appalaches as well as Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Thus, the ADOberge Chaudière-Appalaches, the A-DROIT of Chaudière-Appalaches, the Alliance-Jeunesse Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, the Association for the Defense of Social Rights of the South Shore, the Occupational Workshop South Shore, CALACS South Shore, the Youth Aid and Prevention Center, the Information and Reference Center of the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches, Aux Quatre vents, aid and mutual aid group in mental health, Birth Resources, the Breakeyville Mutual Aid Service, the Le Grenier food counter, Convergence voluntary action, the École du milieu de Lévis, Espace Finances, Le Filon, the GRIS Chaudière-Appalaches, the Maison de la famille Chutes-Chaudière, the REV Family House, the South Shore Family House, Disabled People in Action on the South Shore, the Pintendre Mutual Aid Service, the Saint-Jean-Chrysostome Mutual Aid Service and Le Tremplin, a center for immigrants and their families are the Lévis organizations that will be supported by Centraide.
