Around 9:30 p.m., Quebec firefighters were called to intervene in the Entrepôt Urbain QC company building, located at 199, 2e Avenue.

The fire first broke out in a wood container that serves as rental space in the backyard. It then spread to the building, says Bill Noonan, spokesperson for the Quebec Fire Protection Service (SPCIQ).

Damage to the building remains minor since the blaze was brought under control quickly. Around twenty firefighters took part in the intervention.

The Fire Commissioner came to the scene. As he had reasonable grounds to believe that human intervention could have caused the fire, the investigation was transferred to the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

Several fires

On November 23, a fire broke out at the Entrepôt Urbain QC, this time in the portion of the building housing rental premises for musicians.

According to initial information, the fire could have been of deliberate origin. However, the Quebec Police Service (SPVQ) ruled out the criminal theory a few hours later.

Suspicious fires seem to be increasing in the Limoilou district these days.

On June 8, a vacant building in the Limoilou district was engulfed in flames. The building had also been the target of another possibly arson fire a few months earlier.
