Residents of Les Éboulements, in Charlevoix, have a new mayor. Emmanuel Deschêne is elected mayor after receiving 60% of the votes.
The new mayor won over his opponent Jean-François Larcoque on Sunday during the election. Only 45% of the 1,500 people eligible to vote voted.
The election followed the resignation of Pierre Tremblay last March, who left office after 10 years at town hall due to a growing number of derogatory comments from citizens.
The new mayor, Emmanuel Deschênes, will be in office until the next municipal elections scheduled for November 2, 2025.
M Deschênes is a general contractor.
