Legislative elections in Brest center: there will ultimately be ten candidates!

Before the weekend, six candidates were officially declared in the Brest center constituency: Jean-Charles Larsonneur, the outgoing deputy (not registered), Tristan Bréhier, (Renaissance), Denis Kervella (National Rally), Pierre-Yves Cadalen ( New Popular Front) and Françoise Houard (Les Républicains). But lo and behold, four other candidates finally submitted their applications to the prefecture before the official closing, this Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. And not all of them are unknown.

The centrist Geneviève Henry

Like Geneviève Henry, a former Brest elected official who had her card with the UDF and Modem, and who was also a candidate in the 2011 cantonal elections in Saint-Marc. Still active in politics, she appeared in 36th position on the list of Jean-Marc Governatori, boss of the “Ecology at the Center” party, during the last European elections in 2024.

Martial Koffi, passed through the right and the RN

Another personality to come out of the woods on the gong, Martial Koffi. This former member of the UMP was present on the list led by Laurent Prunier in the 2014 Brest municipal elections. The following year, he was also a replacement candidate in the cantonal elections in Bellevue-Lambézellec within the Alliance for Finistère. Then, in 2020, we find him on the National Rally list led by Renée Thomaïdis in the Brest municipal elections. The following year, still within the RN, he formed a pair with Elisabeth Louvel in the departmental elections in the canton of Bellevue.

Rémy Collard for Lutte Ouvrière

Member of the Lutte Ouvrière party, Rémy Collard presented a list for the 2020 municipal elections in Brest. Two years later, in 2022, we found him in the legislative elections in Brest center, still under the LO label.

Finally, last declared candidate: Alain Rousseau. We do not know if this is the same Alain Rousseau as the one who carried the National Front list in 2014 in Brest.
