A impressive operation. For three days, from Tuesday June 11 to Thursday June 13, 2024, the Ariège National Police operated massive checks in the town of Foix.

On social networks, the police are drawing parallels with the numerous “clearance” operations which have been carried out by the National Police in large cities throughout France in recent months.

An important device

For this large-scale operation, the Ariège police officers benefited from the support of 12 CRS bikers made available by the Zonal Motorcyclist Unit anda canine unit Montpellier.

If the town of Foix was particularly targeted, the police did not stop there since they were projected “over the entire district (also including the municipalities of Ferrières-sur-Ariège And Montgailhard) as well as along the RN20 of police jurisdiction as far as the City of Pamiers, day and night.”

THE common law offenses and the traffic offenses were in their sights.

11 arrests were carried out, “all cases combined (drug trafficking, cigarette trafficking, traffic offenses, etc.)”. 4 people were placed in jail and more than one hundred tickets was drawn up.

Alongside the Prefect of Ariège, the Town Hall and the Foix Prosecutor’s Office, the National Police work every day to make the daily lives of Fuxé residents, but not only, safer and more pleasant!
