Last weekend, Zurich Pride took place. To kick off the festivities on Friday June 14, the organizers invited Nemo to perform on stage. The artist, originally from Bienne, took the stage at 11 p.m. for his first performance in Switzerland since his Eurovision victory.

Nemo first answered questions from a presenter. “We exist! And no matter how many people refuse to acknowledge us, we will always exist. We are here to stay,” declared the artist, with his fist raised, referring to his non-binary nature.

The Eurovision star then began an extended version of his hit “The Code”, exceeding eight minutes. The thousands of spectators present were glued to their phones to remember the show.

After the applause, Nemo said: “It’s very nice to be home again.” The moderator then asked her what was planned for the meeting with Federal Councilor Beat Jans on June 18. “The most important thing is to move things forward regarding the entry of the third gender,” Nemo replied. But it will probably take a long time, especially seeing the results of our survey. What can be implemented immediately? “More safety and more visibility for non-binary and trans people.”

This Monday, June 17, the artist will be in Bienne for an event organized by the city. Nemo also announced a major European tour this weekend and will play all over Switzerland this year.
