Béatrice Leccia, spokesperson for Europe Ecologie Les Verts in Gard, had been invested. But his nomination was withdrawn in favor of Nicolas Cadène. A similar mishap happened to Sybille Jannekin barely two years ago.

“And we will raise the voices of women loudly. » This is what Sandrine Rousseau, MP and figure of Europe Ecologie Les Verts, expressed this Sunday on X. Not sure that this message convinced the Gard activists of his party.

In Gard, a starting place had been reserved for EELV for the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7 as part of the agreement of the left-wing parties. And it was Béatrice Leccia, spokesperson for the party in Gard and municipal councilor in Calvisson, who was invested. But she was only there for a few hours. It was Marine Tondelier herself, the national secretary, who called her on Friday to tell her that the nomination had finally gone to Nicolas Cadène.

The story repeats itself. Barely two years ago, for the 2022 legislative elections, in this constituency already reserved for EELV as part of the Nupes agreements, it was Sybille Jannekin, co-secretary of the EELV section of Nîmes, who had been invested then disinvested a few moments later for the benefit of… Nicolas Cadène.

Le Nîmes, senior civil servant in Montpellier, former general rapporteur of the secularism observatory, is not included in EELV. He is nominated as the opening candidate. In 2020, during the municipal elections in Nîmes, he appeared in third position on the list led by David Tebib who had long hoped for the support of the Republic on the Move.

“I don’t condone what happened,” said Béatrice Leccia, dignified in her reaction. “Now is not the time for controversy, she adds. Since my adolescence I have been fighting against racism and anti-Semitism. I place this fight above everything else. » Not holding a grudge, the Gardoise has also agreed to be Nicolas Cadène’s substitute.
