Next night is going to be cold! Météo France Indian Ocean announces a drop in temperatures across the entire island. It could be 3°C at Pas de Bellecombe.

After the rain, the good weather… And especially the cold! Get out your palto because between today and tomorrow, Tuesday June 18, we are going to lose up to 10°C in certain places on the island!

Next night promises to be cool in Reunion as we “will lose between 3 and 5°C compared to previous nights on the coast, explains François Bonnardot, head of the forecasting service at Météo France in Reunion. And up to 10°C in the upper parts of the island. It could be around 2/3°C at Pas de Bellecombe or at Plaines.”

Temperatures will therefore drop after a week of very unsettled weather, where the wind blew strong and temperatures were mild even though we are no longer in hurricane season.

“We have just experienced an atypical week for the season”, completes François Bonnardot since the nighttime minimum temperatures were exceptionally high this weekend, particularly on the highs where monthly records were broken. At Pas de Bellecombe, 11°C was recorded on Saturday morning, 14.6°C at Plaine des Cafres and 16.8°C at Plaine des Palmistes.

During the night from Thursday to Friday, the Port minimum had already broken a monthly record: 25°C! This temperature is also a monthly record for Reunion Island for the month of June.
