Chantal Lacassagne is his substitute.

MP for Lot for seven years, Huguette Tiegna launched her campaign this weekend for the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7 under the colors of the presidential majority, with a unifying slogan, “Together for the Republic”, around the values of freedom, equality, fraternity, secularism.

A doctor-engineer by training, originally from Burkina Faso, Huguette Tiegna is an “adopted Lotoise”, as she likes to define herself when asked about her strong attachment to her land of Lot. His commitment to politics in 2017 results from this, and his compass has always been the defense of his territory and the service of the collective interest.

Chantal Lacassagne, his deputy for these elections, as in 2022, is involved in local life as deputy mayor of Mayrac. A tourism executive, she spent her professional career working with stakeholders in the Dordogne Valley.

“Since 2017, I have worked tirelessly to meet the legitimate expectations of the Lotoises,” assures Huguette Tiegna. In this regard, I would like to thank them for the trust they placed in me during the two previous elections: in 2017, by electing the first black woman deputy of the territory, 69 years after the election to the Senate of Gaston Monnerville, they carried a message of tolerance, openness and courage; in 2022, they renewed their trust in me, and I am proud to represent a department where human values prevail and where each individual, whatever their origins and background, can aspire to serve the Republic. »

Huguette Tiegna underlines the ambitious vision carried by the presidential majority since 2017: to improve the quality of life of the French; to support the agricultural sector; to strengthen the network of healthcare provision; to fight against discrimination; to ensure the education and training of youth; to respond to mobility challenges; to defend the environment and the development of territories as well as efficient support for local authorities.

On the occasion of these legislative elections, she alerted the people of Lot to the political stakes: “Faced with the populism of the extremes, from the left as well as the right, we are placed before a historic election which should allow us to make a strong choice for our future and that of future generations, while respecting our republican values. This is why I call on all voters attached to humanist and secular values, to the values of work and sustainable development, to support my candidacy in the face of unnatural, unstable and outrageous political alliances, which call into question the great balances of our Nation and the foundations of our Republic. France needs a clear majority to act peacefully,” she underlines.

During this campaign, as during her previous mandates, Huguette Tiegna is on the ground, meeting the residents of the constituency to discuss their concerns, collect their suggestions and share her projects for the future of the Lot and the France. Public meetings, meetings on markets or various events, as well as consultations with local stakeholders are planned.

“I am aware of the journey we have traveled together over the past seven years. We have obtained positive results, such as the two and a half million jobs created (lowest unemployment rate for 25 years, for young people for 40 years). In the Lot, we can rejoice in the progress on the implementation of MRIs, the opening of autism units, the inauguration of 23 France Services houses, the municipal renovation policy (“Action coeur de ville”, “small cities of tomorrow”, “villages of the future”), the arrival of two new gendarmerie brigades, government support for our wine growers and the local economy. However, I make a lucid observation about the persistent difficulties of our citizens. We must continue the work and provide the responses best suited to the needs expressed,” continues Huguette Tiegna before concluding: “It is with this ambition that I represent myself before the people of Lotoises, with the same determination to continue the projects underway. in recent years, with the same energy and dedication to our territory. »
