A 100-page book (30 euros) written by the gastronomic journalist Emmanuel Lupé and prefaced by the most starred chef in the world, Alain Ducasse, and the mayor of Magescq, Alain Soumat, tells the story of the Coussau family through of the Landes hotel-restaurant, highlighting the passion and success of Jean Coussau's loved ones, his parents Bernard and Jeanne, but also his wife Annick, his brother Jacques and his niece, Clémentine.

Several great starred chefs participate in the work by giving their opinion on the cuisine of Jean Coussau, who has just celebrated his 60th career and who every year brings his share of joy to all those who work for “the institution”.

Two friends of his family speak of this ambassador of Landes and Gascon cuisine, including the mayor of Magescq and the former international rugby player Claude Dourthe, 34 times selected for the French team.

This book is full of tasty stories but also very beautiful photos by Didier Leplat and Clément Garby. The glass sculptor Xavier Carrère is also in the spotlight. His works which adorn the restaurant room, and even the swimming pool, highlight the little paradise of the Relais de la Poste.

Browsing through the pages, we discover the beginnings of Jean, Annick, the love of his life, his little brother Jacques or even Clémentine, the future of the Relais de la Poste… It is also a question of the future of Landes gastronomy, from the Coussau inn “Côté Quillier”, the family wine La Petite Lagune and even meetings between Bernard Coussau and François Mitterand, Giscard d’Estaing or Jacques Chaban-Delmas…

A signing session will be planned soon at the Relais de la Poste.
