The association Les Joly chemins de la Brèche, has Soumont-Saint-Quentinnear Potigny, met under the presidency of François Marie to take stock of the event organized during Heritage Days.

“The feedback from all visitors is very good. They enjoyed the show offered by the Lantern Company, the guided tour of the exterior of the chapel and that of Marie-Joly's tomb. François Marie, president of the Les Joly chemins de la Brèche association.

The president thanked the association's volunteers for “their great investment. We welcomed nearly 300 people for a positive financial result.”

A heavy organization

“I’m talking to you about a time that those under twenty cannot know,” sang Charles Aznavour. These words bring back lots of memories to people who experienced the communal festival of Soumont-Saint-Quentin and that of Marie-Joly at Pentecost.

The Joly Chemins association wishes to relaunch this event. “This return could take place either in 2025 or in 2026,” explains the president. “It’s a heavy organization that takes time.”

François Marie and the members of the association want to reconnect with traditions. The program for this popular meeting is set for Pentecost Sunday.

As in the past, mass will take place on Sunday morning, then residents and visitors will be able to eat at the Marie-Joly plateau before enjoying the rides, the inflatable structures, the bowling game (in-line bowling) and the starfruit.

The dancers will return to the dance floor for the traditional bal musette. Until the end of the year, the association will work on organizing “this meeting which should satisfy nostalgic people”.
