The Tarn-et-Garonne judo committee elected Antoine Lopez president during its annual general meeting in Monclar-de-Quercy, succeeding Lionel Quillet.

The Tarn-et-Garonne departmental judo committee recently held its annual general meeting in Monclar-de-Quercy as part of this great day dedicated to Judo, where the departmental final was to close this very successful event.

Judo is the 5th most practiced sport in France. In the department there are 2,300 licensees who are distributed in 25 clubs covering the entire territory.

The club delegates at the general assembly debated, based on the results of the activity for the year 2023, the prospects for the coming mandate.

The commitment of the league and the federation to the training of teachers was part of the debates, as was that of referees and sports commissioners which requires strong involvement in the clubs.

The General Assembly noted a strong increase in the number of licensees, particularly in certain clubs.

The Departmental Committee has been renewed and a new team will be responsible for running it for the Olympiad which is about to open.

After 15 years during which Lionel Quillet chaired the departmental judo committee, we would like to thank him warmly; Antoine Lopez was elected to this responsibility. The latter is a teacher and manager at the Nègrepelisse club.

Taking up his new position, he thanked his predecessor by emphasizing the quality of the work carried out with the outgoing team to develop judo and its values, but also to improve the conditions for the practice of judo in our department and the collaborative approach between the clubs. The AGM ended with the honoring of Alioune Diaite who did very good work within the committee as part of a Universal National Service.
