Update June 17, 2024 at 2:00 a.m.

The weather over the next few days will provide fertile ground for the formation of potentially severe thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms use water as fuel, so they will be very spoiled in the coming days which are expected to be particularly humid. Wednesday in particular will have a humidex which could reach values between 40 and 45.

How does it work? Humidity in the air impacts its surroundings; it increases the energy available for the formation of storms. And the more energy there is, the more severe the storms will have the potential to be if they form.

Daily potential for thunderstorms

This week, the potential for thunderstorms will therefore be omnipresent in the region. Of course, this does not mean that there will be storms everywhere and all the time, but it does mean that the ingredients will be there, only one trigger will be missing.
