For a whole day, police activities and interventions to say no to harassment.

The Dasen (academic director of National Education services) of Tarn-et-Garonne, Cyril Le Normand, was at Vercingétorix college on Thursday, November 7, national day against harassment, accompanied by Emanuel Lopez, “harassment” referent on the department. The 6th grade students received interventions from the social worker and a member of the “pHARe” team, a comprehensive plan for the prevention and treatment of harassment situations. Implemented since 2021, generalized to schools and colleges at the start of the 2022 school year, this plan has been extended to high schools since the start of the 2023 school year.

These interventions must make students aware of the theme and work on empathy. The students will make a postcard with the instruction “I am writing to a student who is a victim of harassment”. The cards will then be exhibited at the CDI.

The 5th grade classes saw a film “Un monde”, with a debate at the end of the screening. This film tells the life of a young girl who enters primary school and who is confronted with the harassment of which her older brother Abel is a victim. An immersive dive, from a child's perspective, into the world of school.

Finally, 4th grade students participated in an intervention with the gendarmerie on the theme of harassment and cyberharassment. Young college students were made aware and were very demanding of information on social networks, nudes and they were entitled to a reminder of the law.

Meeting of parents with a police officer

At the end of the afternoon, parents were invited to a meeting with Warrant Officer David Michel from the Family Protection Center to raise awareness on these unfortunately current issues.

Ms. Frau presented the teachers, the two PHARe representatives (comprehensive plan for the prevention and treatment of harassment situations) of the establishment to the parents as well as the aim of this day.

Warrant Officer Michel's intervention aimed to raise awareness among parents about understanding their children's digital uses, and to identify the threats and opportunities of the Internet. In fact, to better support children and have real communication with them.

Thus, for an hour, discussions on these subjects were numerous and fruitful and the parents thanked the organizers of this day.
