During a trip to Korea a few years ago, Geneviève discovers a revolutionary concept. The principle is simple, you sit at a table and, while enjoying hot drinks and pastries, we write… a letter to ourselves ! When she returned to France a few weeks later, nothing was going well: no letter café in the country to reproduce the experience. Neither one nor two, the decision is made, since it does not exist, she will create the first ! And for this, it set up in the 11th, rue du Faubourg-du-Templebetween République and Belleville. Introspection for everyone
talking to yourself, we do it all the time. Whether in thought or out loud, at home or on the streetwe all have moments of confusion while listening the little voice that runs through our headsand who can spend hours decipher the slightest of our actions. So if, in principle, writing a letter to yourself may seem easy – since after all, we do it a bit all the time – it’s an exercise a little more special than it seems to which you are offered to comply Café Pli.
Here we choose a consumption in the rather simple list but very effective drinks offered. For gourmets, we also opt for a salty or sweet snack. Then comes the long-awaited moment: you choose your card from the designs available (all designed especially for the place), his favorite pens, stickers, washi tapesin short everything you need to let your imagination run wild. Everything is ready to go a moment as interesting as it is nice.
No blank page syndrome
For some, it is the most feared moment : having to put it down on paper his more or less intimate thoughts. I see you from here, shaking and sweating in the fear of writing nonsense, or worse, of writing nothing at all. The advantage is that several solutions are available to you. Already, we keep in mind that the only person who can judge you is you ! Then, rest assured, Café Pli, with its immense (and funny) wall of mailboxes and its mismatched furniture, is a place where you feel good, and where inspiration comes by itself.
And for those who, despite this, would continue to blockno worries. On site you will find card games who ask quite personal questions, to hang out with friends or to keep for yourselfwhich will give you solid lines of thought for the topics to be discussed. And then if, really, nothing comes, then we make pretty drawingsand we write jokes. You can even slide in a photo taken on site using a cabin ! It's always that, and then it will make you happy whatever happens when you will receive your pretty card on the date of your choice.
A 100% validated concept
Café Pli is therefore a super family and comfortable placewhere we reconnect with a sacred tradition: that of writing.
