Discomfort between Radio-Canada and Kent Hughes: a secret dinner denounced

The unease between Radio-Canada and Kent Hughes reached a new peak when journalist Marc-Antoine Godin claimed that Sam Dickinson had dinner with Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, a meeting that the Canadiens’ leaders firmly deny.

However, the testimonies and photos of Dickinson getting into a vehicle with team officials raise questions.

Why lie ? Is it the fear of arousing concern among fans who fear the arrival of another left-handed defender? Press journalist Guillaume Lefrançois wonders.

This mystery brings to mind other big questions that have tormented the most curious minds: Is Elvis dead or alive? Did man really walk on the Moon? And now, did Sam Dickinson really have dinner with the Canadian in Buffalo?

Kevin Dubé, from the Journal de Québec, had seen Dickinson waiting for a vehicle in the company of members of the CH staff. When interviewed in Buffalo, Dickinson claimed to have dined only with the Utah team.

However, Marc-Antoine Godin of Radio-Canada maintains that Dickinson did share a meal with Montreal. The truth will be revealed in three weeks, but until then, fans are already expressing their concern:

With Mike Matheson, Kaiden Guhle, Arber But this abundance of left-handed defenders raises several questions:

Matheson’s contract expires in two years. Will the Canadian consider an extension or will he have to be traded before the end of his contract?

Can Guhle, having suffered a concussion in April, stay healthy and avoid further injury?

Xhekaj, to become a top 4 defender, will also need to stay fit after shoulder surgeries.

Hutson, despite his offensive talent, will he be able to play long minutes with his small size in a competitive team?

Can Harris and Struble reach the level of a second-line defense duo?

These questions from journalist Guillaume Lefrançois show that it could be wise to draft another left-handed defender. Kent Hughes has already expressed a preference for a forward, but his decision will also depend on the selections made by Chicago, Anaheim and Columbus after the first choice of Macklin Celebrini.

Managing talent and draft picks remains a delicate task for the team’s future. The truth about the dinner with Dickinson remains unclear, but the discussions and speculation about the best strategy for the Canadian are sure to captivate fans and pundits.

Zeev Buium? Sam Dickinson? Zayne Parekh?

Artyom Levshunov and Anton Silayev will be selected before 5th place according to what is circulating. Only Parekh will be the possible right-handed defender for CH then.

Something to worry anti-left-handed CH fans. Don’t worry, our info still tells us it will be between Demidov and Lindstrom.

To be continued…
