That was one of the goals, and they did it!
This Sunday at the beginning of the afternoon ended Vendée Heartthe charity event in Sables-d’Olonne.
After the teams had rowed (in the rain!) for 24 hours, Fabrice Garandeau, the president of Vendée Cœur, presented a check for €181,573 to the three associations of this edition: Leading the way, the Camino de l’Espoir and the AVLC, the Vendée Association for the Fight against Cancer.
“Incredible work”
The president of Vendée Cœur did not fail to congratulate all those who participated: “What you did is crazy! I don’t know if I would have been able to do it. Thank you also to all the volunteers, who did an incredible job during these 24 hours. »
Being capable of great things
With this amount, Vendée Cœur establishes a new recordwhich exceeds that established during previous editions by more than 30,000 euros!
“The amount is not the most important thing for me. What matters is being able to finance the associations’ projects», Reacts Fabrice Garandeau.
To also bring people together and show that we are capable of doing great things together. “At a time when our society is being torn apart, we have shown a lot of solidarity and fraternity. We delivered a message of kindness,” he said, before being cut off by thunderous applause.
The prize pool continues
To arrive at this sum, the 48 teams of 456 rowers completed 10,015 paddle laps in the Chnoue, in 24 hours. Each round brought in one euro.
The donations finally made it possible to increase to the final sum. It could also progress further, since the prize pool is not closed.
” She goes stay open until the end of the month. We hope to reach 200,000 euros, and thus finance all of the associations’ projects,” explains Fabrice Garandeau.
