A new pedestrian mobility platform in the region. The “Walkable.ch” application and website were presented on Saturday to the population of St-Blaise. The Municipality has become the first in the canton of Neuchâtel to enter into this partnership with Pedestrian Mobility Switzerland and Objectif.NE to allow everyone to report dangerous or, on the contrary, popular paths. “We can put points when we think about a pedestrian mobility route,” explains Martine Docourt. “There are several possibilities for bringing these routes to life and evolving,” continues the member of the Pedestrian Mobility Switzerland committee. This platform has several objectives, the first being to be able to register places that do not seem suitable. Then, thanks to the partnership of the municipalities, this makes it possible to connect the population and the authorities to find solutions to the problems encountered on pedestrian paths.

Anyone can announce on the platform places they like or, on the contrary, where they encountered a problem. The municipality then has the possibility of contacting the author of a report in order to find a solution. The platform is already active elsewhere in the country, and most of the points reported so far are negative. But for Martine Docourt, this application does not risk becoming a simple outlet for the dissatisfied. “I think it really creates a dialogue! »

This “Walkable.ch” platform is open to everyone throughout Switzerland, but if points are reported in non-partner municipalities, Pedestrian Mobility Switzerland will contact them and offer to become a partner. This is precisely the association’s job now: to continue its search for partners to bring this platform to life. /lgn
