Electra sets out to conquer Belgium

Electra intends to develop its charging network outside French borders. The company has just announced a fundraising of 75 million euros and plans to establish itself in Belgium.

The French company Electra wants to be one of the companies that counts in the field of charging. Co-founded by Aurélien de Meaux, the company recently announced a new funding round of 75 million euros from four banks to accelerate its development in Europe. Electra particularly wishes to expand its network of fast charging stations among our Belgian neighbors.

Electra raises 75 million euros

Currently, the company already operates 40 charging stations in Belgium. Electra assures that “ more than 1,000 fast charging stations are currently under development across Europe “. And Belgium is one of the priority countries. The banks ABN Amro, Caisse d’Épargne Hauts-de-France, CACIB and Société Générale have just given a boost to the French firm.

This financing meets the criteria of “ green loan » and should theoretically cover 60% of the investment in charging stations in Belgium. Electra will finance the rest through its own means. As part of its European development, the firm also announced a strategic partnership with Germany and the Accor group. Electra will install chargers in the brand’s hotels this year.

With a record fundraising of 304 million euros carried out a few months ago, Electra is targeting 2,200 stations and 15,000 charging points across Europe by 2030. At the same time, the French firm is targeting the growing professional market. The company wants to install chargers in company car parks as part of a specific offer.
