For the 8th consecutive year, the Thelonica association is offering morning concerts by the lake in Lausanne. With the “Musique à l’aube” festival, early risers who love jazz, classical, pop and improvised music will be able to listen to ten concerts at the Jetée de la Compagnie in Bellerive, every Saturday at 6 a.m., from June 22 to 24 august.

The idea of these morning concerts was born in 2017, with two performances. “Musics at dawn” then took place every summer, with five concerts. Since 2021, the format has increased to ten events and has expanded to new musical styles, such as classical or contemporary music, recalls Thelonica. In case of rain, the concert is postponed until the following morning. The price is free.

This year, at the opening of the festival on June 22, the public will be able to come and listen to the Mediterranean sounds of North Africa from the Algerian singer-songwriter Anouar Kaddour Chérif and his mandola. Then see the Swiss jazz quartet KUMA (June 29), the Barcelona guitarist, keyboardist and producer Raül Refree (July 6), the British soprano Juliet Fraser and her sidekick Newton Armstrong (July 13) and the Swiss R’n’B of Lakna (July 20).

The musical-morning summer will then continue with the cello of the Franco-American Sonia Wieder-Atherton (July 27), the multi-instrumentalist concert of the Swiss Sara Oswald and Robin Girod (August 3), jazz-rock and the sounds from the Far West by Roman Nowka quartet (August 10), the songs accompanied by the accordion of the Swiss group OXEON (August 17) and, finally, the jazz trumpet and double bass of the Swiss duo Matthieu Michel and Patrice Moret (August 24).
