A logistics platform from the companies Softgroup Immobilier and Emirates Logistics was inaugurated on Friday at the Kenitra Free Zone.

The project covers an area of ​​35,000 square meters and constitutes an important component of the Atlantic Free Zone industrial zone of Kenitra (AFZ).

This platform, whose inauguration ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, in the presence of the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Morocco, Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, and the Governor of the province of Kenitra, Fouad M’Hamdi, is part of the development and equipment of modern, new generation logistics platforms, in favor of economic operators.

The platform, which aims to promote the attractiveness of the Kénitra AFZ, also aims to promote economic land and highlight its role as an accelerator of the pace of development of territorial areas capable of attract value-added investments and provide employment opportunities.

On this occasion, Abdeljalil indicated that this logistics platform is the result of a partnership between two private groups, namely Softgroup, as an important player in the field of logistics in Morocco, and the Emirati company Emirates Logistics, which also works in the same field, adding that the goal is to build areas dedicated to logistics storage.

The minister explained, in a press statement, that this platform, which is part of the proactive investment policy in the logistics sector, makes it possible to improve logistics performance, which is at the heart of the economic policy of the country.

And he continued that the ministry is working to intensify activities aimed at creating more logistics zones, accelerating their creation in all regions of the Kingdom and putting them at the service of economic attractiveness and logistical competitiveness.

“We have already inaugurated a first logistics platform in the AFZ of Kénitra over an area of ​​45,000 square meters, where companies work in the field of the automobile industry,” said the general director of Softgroup Immobilier, Zhor Kabbaj.

“We reproduced the same experience at this logistics platform,” she indicated in a similar statement, expressing the will of Softgroup real estate “to welcome national and foreign companies and meet their warehousing needs in Kenitra”.

The Atlantic Free Zone of Kenitra covers the logistics of the Tangier-Rabat axis, she indicated, hoping that it “also extends to the Casablanca region”.

The inauguration of this logistics platform translates “an ambition and a vision for Kénitra”estimated, for his part, the general director of Emirates Logistics, Frédéric Ricci, adding that the objective is to create service areas with high added value in the field of logistics and supply chains and import.

The platform is the result of cooperation and coordination between two companies namely Softgroup real estate, which works to create high quality infrastructure, and “our company which provides the logistics kit”, he clarified.
