Still standing, but not yet restored. The Heritage in Sharing association is seriously concerned about the future of the old wash boat Saint-Yves. Since 2009, it has been located on a grassy plot on Route de L'Huisserie. The association has written an open letter to the attention of elected officials (Laval, Laval agglomeration, Department and Region). Heritage in Sharing wishes to express to elected officials its “deep concern about the future of the wash boat Saint-Yves. The association estimates that since 2009, “no significant progress has been made.” The association says it fears “irreversible loss of this witness to the past life of Laval residents”.

A concrete commitment demanded

In his capacity as president of Patrimoine en shared, Michel Rosiaux asks “elected officials to make a concrete commitment to the rapid and respectful rehabilitation of this wash boat.” Protection work was carried out in September 2023 to stabilize the Saint-Yves.

Like other candidates in the Laval municipal elections in 2020, the list carried by Florian Bercault was committed to breathing new life into the Saint-Yves. A reception area for tourism had been mentioned near the Laval river stop.
