Alexandre Rossi, the public prosecutor of Cahors (Lot), is accused by his wife of domestic violence. Placed in police custody in the premises of the Montauban gendarmerie, he was placed under judicial supervision pending his judgment this Tuesday.

An announcement that shook the Cahors court. It was last April 15. The public prosecutor, Alexandre Rossi, was placed in police custody in the premises of the research brigade (BR) in Montauban, in Tarn-et-Garonne. In fact, his wife accuses him of domestic violence.

After his custody, the prosecutor was confronted by his wife before being brought before the Montauban public prosecutor. He was placed under judicial supervision and prohibited from going to his partner’s home. His trial will be held this Tuesday before the Montalban courts.

“On leave for an indefinite period”

Since then, the public prosecutor has not regained his functions. In fact, on vacation at the time of this announcement, he subsequently decided to go on “indefinite leave” according to the Agen public prosecutor’s office, to which that of Cahors depends. Alexandre Rossi is, for the moment, presumed innocent.

The Cahors prosecutor took up his duties at the Cahors public prosecutor’s office in 2022. He replaced Frédéric Almendros who became a judge at the Montpellier Court of Appeal. Since 2015, the magistrate has been a general substitute at the Gard Court of Appeal. Before that, the magistrate worked as a substitute at the public prosecutor’s office in Aurillac in Cantal, from 2006 to 2010, then in Tarascon in Bouches-du-Rhône, from 2010 to 2015.
