The outgoing deputy from the North Adrien Quatennens was nominated by LFI for the legislative elections. The feminist activist from the “All of Us” collective announces this Saturday, June 15, her candidacy in the same constituency against the candidate convicted of domestic violence.

A candidacy in response to the surprise inauguration of Adrien Quatennens. The lawyer and activist of the feminist collective “All of Us” Amy Bah announces this Saturday, June 15 on her X account (formerly Twitter) her candidacy in the first constituency of the North, against the outgoing LFI deputy Adrien Quatennens, for the legislative elections of June 30 and from July 7.

“I am a candidate in the 1st district of the North against Adrien Quatennens. I support the program of the New Popular Front, and I carry all the values of the left,” she declares.

This candidacy comes in reaction to the announcement Friday evening of the investiture by LFI of the rebel, convicted of domestic violence. If Amy Bah claims to carry the “values” of the New Popular Front, she has not been officially nominated by a party that is a member of the Union of the Left.

“Remaining silent or inactive is no longer possible”

“For the Lille citizen, feminist, social, anti-racist and environmentalist activist, who fought for the resignation of Adrien Quatennens for two years, remaining silent or inactive is no longer possible,” she explains.

Amy Bah said she chose to run “in conscience and responsibility”, “after asking once again that Adrien Quatennens not be invested in the name of the New Popular Front”.

Anticipating possible accusations of creating divisions on the left at the polls, Amy Bah explains her approach. “The 1st district of the North has been on the left for 30 years and therefore carries a low risk of the extreme right. It is in this context that I am running my candidacy,” she said.

“Through this candidacy, I wish to carry the ideas and the disruptive program of the New Popular Front,” she maintains, saying she “looks forward to embodying the values of the left.”

Adrien Quatennens, described as the “Achilles heel of the left” by Amy Bah, was invested by LFI in the legislative elections, unlike several rebellious figures such as the deputies of Seine-Saint-Denis Alexis Corbière or Raquel Garrido.
