After the harvest, winegrowers invite the general public to a festive and friendly evening every year, celebrating the freedom and creativity that characterize their wines. Because in the Gard, yes, the winegrowers are not asleep on their vines, they are moving, they are creating, they are moving forward despite the crises.

« The state of mind is that of partying and dancing in the rain, because our job is, above all, conviviality! » President of the IGP federation of Gard wines, Denis Verdier is on the move for his sector. If the situation is somewhat gloomy between the drop in consumption and the new arrival of Donald Trump to power in the USA, the Gard winegrowers are trying things and innovating.

ReGard sur le Vin aims to bring together all audiences, wine lovers or not, by offering them vintages with varied, modern and light profiles, all in a festive and warm atmosphere.

Communications manager at the IGP du Gard wine federation, Alix Bailly presents the special evening on November 21. “ Change of location, after the Musée de la Romanité, it will be at the Brasserie des Antonins, opposite the arenas, another emblematic place in the city center. 19 winegrowers will have their wines tasted and as in 2023, we will have a bubble bar with several references for Les Bullicieuses. »

Upon their arrival, visitors will receive a screen-printed glass, giving them access to the various tastings, as well as two “glass of wine” tickets. They will be able to wander from stand to stand, guided by a tasting book specially designed for the occasion, which will allow them to explore the riches of Gard wines while being surprised by new flavors.

The Bullicieuses are part of the innovations that President Verdier spoke about. But among the Gard winegrowers, one had already ventured into creating a bubble wine, Guilhem Peladan from Arnasseaux not far from Cardet.

« I have been living here for around twenty years and I noticed that wine consumption was already focused on the aperitif. For five years, I have been making bulls and I have declined my whites and my rosés! The carbonation is done directly at my home and provides intense, fine bubbles which act as flavor enhancers. »

Wine tourism facilitator at the IGP du Gard wine federation, Éléonore Anger continues. “ We are bringing together the Gardois for an action plan planned for 2025. We are going to make cocktails and we hope for around fifty different vintages for Les Bullicieuses! There is great diversity, some already do the three colors, others are just starting out. There is no standard product, we are going to disseminate all this to the general public who we also need to raise awareness about. »

« To succeed internationally we must first be known and recognized locally! » says Denis Verdier. Because the goal is indeed to get past this milestone, to put an end to this negative dynamic. Gard winegrowers are full of good will and ideas!

To further surprise tasters, the Gard wine federation IGP du Gard collaborated with Gard mixologist Nicolas Lassalle, who created two unique cocktails, 100% Gard, especially for the event, merging the authenticity of Gard wines with the art of modern mixology.

For those who want to buy their wine, the method changes. Before, there was a sales stand where consumers could leave directly with their box. This year and to extend the relationship, the winegrowers will welcome you directly to the estate to sell their vintage, but also and above all to show you all their production in another setting. This novelty should serve to increasingly link the consumer to the producer so that this duo can be fully aware of each other's expectations.

This evening will see “classic” wines rub shoulders with sparkling wines. As you will have understood, to support this dynamic and respond to current trends, IGP du Gard wines have launched the brand “Les Bullicieuses” collectively and which is dedicated to sparkling wines.

This brand embodies a spirit of freshness and freedom, allowing winemakers to engage in a creative and collaborative approach to explore new flavors. The objective is to bring together all the sparkling wine producers of Gard and to promote their creations by integrating them into a committed collective.
