« Here there is no concept », confides Antoine to us, welcoming us with a smile to this new neighborhood landmark which is already popular on rue Amelot, as evidenced by the packed terrace in the middle of November. At Comptoir Club, we focus on the essential: ultra-fresh products, a minimalist but stylish setting, and a musical atmosphere which makes you want to put down your coat for a few hours to discover what's going on there.
Simple but well thought out
Antoine and Julie, the two brains behind this gem, have thought of every detail so that this bistro becomes your new landmark. Julie grew up in the his parents' Burgundy vineyardraised on good local products. Antoine is a passionate about cooking since childhood and graduate of the Paul Bocuse Institute. Rich in various experiences (palace pastry making, gastronomic tourism, opening restaurants, etc.), they finally decided to open their own address.
And at first glance, the decor instantly seduces us. Designed by Chloé Leymarie, the place is a subtle blend of custom-made furniture and antique objects that blur the lines and almost makes you believe that Comptoir Club has always been there.
For coffee, lunch, or canons?
Menu without embellishment but executed with care, minimalist decor with antique touchesand a huge XXL counter, designed to remake the world in a friendly atmosphere. Result: a spot that combines human warmth and carefully sourced products.
In the morning, we enjoy simple boiled eggs which always please or a homemade granola with a good chai or matcha latte. In the evening, time for tapas: tamago egg with straciatella, roasted squash, and coffee-roasted carrot… We might as well tell you that we will come back just for these small plates to share.
We benefit from an offer all day long specialty coffeeof finely selected teas and ultra-appetizing pastries at the counter. This bistro perfectly embodies neighborhood life, a bit like in the past, but with a modern twist, and each visit makes you want to come back. And I insist, but once again, the playlist adds its little grain of sugar which makes all the difference.
See you there!
