The community of municipalities of the Creuse Valley has been involved in the European project Life _ LetsGo4Climate since this summer through workshops and various actions. This operation, initiated by the European Commission and relayed since 2022 by the Centre-Val de Region, works in favor of an energy transition driven by the stakeholders and inhabitants of a territory.

Collectives wanting to act for the planet

Its objective is to accelerate the production of renewable energy and reduce collective and individual energy consumption through a community of local partners. These individuals, companies, associations, communities, wishing to act for the planet, are invited to build a production or territorial sobriety project, with economic and social benefits, and after the formalization of this approach through a free organized show Wednesday September 18, at the Saint-Gaultier village hall, citizen workshops were then scheduled in Argenton-sur-Creuse in October and November, and a last one, Wednesday December 11, Jean-Frappat room.

Last weekend, the third meeting focused on visits to four sites linked to sustainable development: the geothermal installations in the town of Argenton-sur-Creuse, the solar power plant in the Narrons area, the methanizer in Chazelet, and the shared Gardens of the Grenouille where two of its managers, David François and Hervé Valoteau, explained that the association had planted forty fruit trees, the production of which will, in four or five years, be intended for the local population. They also talked about their project to create a mini-edible forest, which should be launched next year with the help of Gîtes de .

All participants then met in the Charles-Brillaud room to discuss their experiences. The opportunity for Véronique Pérez, project manager at the CDC, who is leading the operation, to highlight the success of these workshops attended by around thirty people, while Noémie Atek, project manager for citizen mobilization for the energy transition of the Centre-Val de Loire Region, recalled the four guidelines of these actions carried out by citizen collectives: mobility, energy consumption, food, housing.

The meeting on December 11 will allow four local projects to be selected and to reflect on ways to make them a reality through a new orientation of one's personal lifestyle, to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint.
