Focus – TARTAS ST YAGUEN / US LATRILLE ENT. – SENIORS FEMININES A 11
This weekend, the Landes Football District is highlighting women’s football!
As part of the “extension” of Pink October, the DLF presents you with a promising poster: FC TARTAS ST YAGUEN, currently second in its group, welcomes US LATRILLE ENT., ranked third. This meeting, with its decisive stakes, promises to influence the ranking and could even weigh on the rest of the championship!
As this clash approaches, Aurélie DUPONT, captain of FC TARTAS ST YAGUEN, and Alexia LASMARRIGUES, captain of US LATRILLE ENT., share their ambitions, their objectives and their state of mind.
How did you prepare for this match? Are there any specific aspects that you have worked on?
Aurélie DUPONT: We prepare for matches by focusing on ourselves first and foremost, and not necessarily on the opposing team. We want to put in place our playing system, which our coach insists on during training. Having met them last year, we know that US LATRILLE is a great team with desire and commitment, which risks giving a good match to play.
Alexia LASMARRIGUES : The organization of the calendar led to a three-week break for us before this match against Tartas St Yaguen. This was an opportunity for our team to carry out quality physical and tactical work. However, we are approaching this weekend's match like any other match, without pressure, we only focus on our team without taking into account the issues that may surround this match.
What is the main strength of your team for this match?
Aurélie DUPONT: Our main strength is quite simply our group and our cohesion. We are a group of friends who like to play together and have fun. For this match, as for all the others, we try as much as possible to “play nice”.
Alexia LASMARRIGUES : For several seasons now, we have managed to build a young, competitive, united group with a very good atmosphere. I think her strengths are our greatest strength because all the girls are willing to put in the effort for each other. In addition, during the inter-season break, we also had the chance to welcome new girls, who bring new offensive possibilities to our team. I think these arrivals are also an asset for this match.
Do you know the event linked to your championship day organized by the DLF?
Aurélie DUPONT: Yes, we have heard about this event which is a great idea. It highlights women's football while contributing to an important cause. It's up to us to score now, to raise as much money as possible for the association.
Alexia LASMARRIGUES : Thanks to the Landes District, I was able to learn about the event organized around our championship day and I hope that our team can contribute to helping the La Holi association as well as women and men affected by cancer.
What are your goals for the season?
Aurélie DUPONT: For the season, we first want to join departmental 1 for the championship. We will see later. We also want to go as long as possible in the Landes Cup.
Alexia LASMARRIGUES : Last season, we had very good performances in D1, with a very young group. This year, we aim to repeat this by reaching D1 at the end of this mixing phase, to then try to play the leading roles in this division. The championship is an important objective for us but this year the whole group has in mind to go for the Landes Cup which has eluded our team for many years.
Finally, a ritual question in this “Focus” section, what message do you want to convey to your teammates and supporters before this duel at the top?
Aurélie DUPONT: To my teammates, I would like to tell them to continue to have fun above all and to stay focused throughout the match. To the supporters, I hope to see as many of you as possible in Saint-Yaguen on Saturday evening, we need you!
Alexia LASMARRIGUES : First of all, the first message will be for my teammates, solidarity is the strength of our team and we have proven it since the start of the season so let's show it once again this weekend. The second message is for our supporters, I would like to say thank you to them for their presence at the side of the pitch every weekend, it pushes us to surpass ourselves. Finally, I would especially like to send a message to our leaders and our coaches. We are lucky to be in a club that highlights women's football. All these people work all week to ensure that the weekend meetings are possible and take place in the best conditions, so thank you to you too.
