The rescue mission of the Francs-Borains, in the Challenger Pro League, will be carried out with Karim Belhocine at the helm. The former coach of Charleroi, Anderlecht and Kortrijk called on a well-known figure from the RWDM to take care of the goalkeepers: Thierry Berghmans.

It was the surprise at the start of the week. After a more than complicated start to the season, in the Challenger Pro League, the Francs-Borains called on Karim Belhocine to lead the rescue mission.

After saving Kortrijk in 2016, managing Anderlecht, then guiding Charleroi in Europe, the Franco-Algerian will have to take President Georges-Louis Bouchez’s club out of its current penultimate place.

The RFB, the worst defense in the series, has already conceded 24 points since the start of the season and has the worst goal difference: -15, in 11 matches! It is therefore defensively that Belhocine wishes to work on, as a priority.

If the former defensive profile from Standard and La Gantoise can instill his know-how in the defenders of his core, he has decided to integrate a well-known figure in Belgian football to take care of the goalkeepers: Thierry Berghmans.

The 52-year-old defended the cages of Brussels, Willebroek, Tubize, Louvain and others 82 times, professionally. He then coached the goalkeepers of Tubize (2011-2019), then RWDM (2019-2023), before paying the price for the arrival of John Textor, like a good part of the former staff.
