After two consecutive rounds of the Coupe de France, from which the Amiens emerged victorious, the team led by Nicolas Cauvin returns to the daily life of the championship with a trip to Cambrai, bottom of the championship.
The women's Amiens SC remains on three consecutive successes, including the last two in the Coupe de France, against Hénin-Beaumont and against Lillers. Qualified for the first federal round, Nicolas Cauvin's players have gained confidence but the latter believes that he “We need to put our heads back together. We have to get back into championship mode. » A return “to normal” difficult to manage but Cambrai is in the same situation, with the difference that they lost during the last regional round, last week. The objective is clear, to achieve the same performances in the championship as in the cup. “It’s a match to be taken very seriously, we want stay in continuity with what we have been able to do in the last matches. » And even if the local team only has one point in the standings after five days, the Samarian coach prefers to be wary: “We must respect all opponents. Cambrai is last but we know the attitudes when we are last. They will fight until the end. We've all been in these situations where we have to play it safe, so it's going to be up to us to be serious, diligent and organized. »
Favorites on paper, the players of Amiens SC must not fall into excess of confidence in the face of a northern team which is sorely lacking in it. “After each match, we reset the counters to zero” warns Nicolas Cauvin. “Maybe, on paper, everyone sees us winning but if we don't have the necessary ingredients and attitudes to win the match, we will take a beating there. » Despite everything, he concedes that his team will decide the outcome of the meeting. “If we are diligent as in the last matches, there is no reason not to come back with three points. » Ideally, the Picardy coach would like his team to achieve the same first 30 minutes as against Lillers, in which his players scored two goals. “If, in the first half, we can score goals in high moments to have the advantage and be in control behind, we will not deprive ourselves” he concluded. If the scenario could be different, Nicolas Cauvin will at least be able to count on a group similar to the one victorious against Lillers.
