La Gruyere | HFR: The general manager will take early retirement

A page is about to be turned in the upper echelons of the Friborg hospital. This Friday morning, its general director Marc Devaud announced his departure. He will leave his position to take early retirement as soon as a successor has been found.

After seven years in this position and the recent yes to financial aid from the State, he felt that the structure needed new blood. “The HFR financing decree having been widely accepted by the population, several projects will soon be able to start. After seven years of intense work, I consider that it is the right time to pass the baton to a person who will be able to support these projects over the long term and with all the energy required,” he declared in a press release.

This decision, considered for several months, is regretted by the president of the board of directors, Annamaria Müller. “He occupied this demanding position with great involvement and a lot of dynamism. Throughout his career, the well-being of patients has been at the center of his concerns and his professional career has allowed him to understand those of the staff. His management of the Covid period was remarkable, as well as the work on efficiency. But what about the HFR accounts? “They were close to balance in 2022, before inflation obscured the progress made.” Geoffroy Brändlin
